Kate is one of the most distinctive composer-pianists to emerge on the current British Jazz scene. With variety of harmony and texture Kate Williams has the knack of making a quartet sound much bigger. Her new quartet play original compositions alongside pieces by McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Lennie Tristano, and Mulgrew Miller. The excellent rhythm section and eloquent saxophone of Steve Kaldestad compliment Kates stylish playing.
