Leicester Jazz is the brand name for jazz development activities
funded by Leicester City Council and East Midlands Jazz. These
activities aim to provide, support and encourage jazz and related
music in Leicester and Leicestershire. Leicester Jazz is currently
managed by The Y on behalf of a group of local Promoters and venues.
In 2005/6 we supported 14 live gigs and publicised 55 events across
18 venues through our seasonal leaflet. Our leaflet is distributed
county wide, please contact us if you would like a copy. In response
to growing interest we have also created this site!
Leicester Jazz is a member of East Midlands Jazz or EMJAZZ. This is
an umbrella jazz development agency which comprises Leicester Jazz,
Derby Jazz, Jazz Steps (Nottingham) and similar ventures in Lincoln
and Northampton. EMJazz is funded by the Arts Council of England.
